PBCORE RESOURCE WEBSITE DISCUSSIONS [PBCORE]
This is THE PLACE for users of PBCore to share experiences about the metadata dictionary, how they are using it, how they would like to use it, voice concerns, post questions, and provide solutions to implement PBCore...in a blog-like format.
1. To join...	Access the PBCore Resources Website... http://www.pbcoreresources.org Log in or register if you are a new participant.
2. To post messages...	Create new threads or post followup comments to ongoing discussions.
3. Types of messages...	We want everyone to be frank and upfront about what is working and not working with PBCore (in a polite and professional manner, of course). Feel free to post any of your concerns and questions, including recommendations and solutions. The archives of the PBCore Resources Website will be referenced as updates to PBCore are undertaken and the metadata dictionary evolves.

2. To post messages...	Address your message to the listserv's e-mail address... pbcore@wgbh.org You now have the ability to send attachments with your posts to the listserv. We thought it important that specific documents and resources should be shared and viewed by all the subscribers. Please to not send requests to subscribe or unsubscribe with the discussion list's e-mail address.
3. To view messages in a Digest...	Rather than receiving each posting to the PBCore Listserv as individual message in your e-mail "in-box," you can instruct the Listserv to send messages grouped into digests. Send an e-mail message directly to the following automated listserv subscription service... requests@mail4.wgbh.org In the "subject" line of your message, simply type... subscribe digest PBCore Please do not send requests for digest mode to the listserv with the discussion list's e-mail address.

BUILDING A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE...
A metadata dictionary and the situations in which it is applied are not static. Much work has been accomplished in order to define a core set of metadata descriptors for use by Public Broadcasters and their associated communities and partners. However, we are part of an evolutionary process that is building a "Community of Practice" for the uses and applications of the PBCore.

At the present time, PBCore is transitioning from the National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM) at WGBH, Boston, to another organization who will act as the Authority and Maintenance Manager for the metadata dictionary and schema. We will post updates as confirmations and responsibilities are assigned.

At all times, we welcome feedback, questions, comments, concerns, requests, needs, and quandries about the PBCore. Be sure and register with the PBCore Resources Website (http://www.pbcoreresources.org) where you can share experiences, concerns and questions about PBCore.
